After 2000 years’ serious attack by the wind and human destruction with fire, Masada, this Jewish cultural city actually doesn’t remain much to see, I mean something grand and complete. The ruins have been cleaned and partly repaired for the visitors from all over the world in usual times. From March until October, the Sound & Light Shows take place at nights of Tuesdays and Thursdays on the west side. The access road will be closed for safety when the show begins.

It was about 10am when Mr.T and I arrived at Masada. The temperature in desert already reached over 40C. We nearly saw anyone along the road, except one backpacker. Oh, my! A man who dares to walk in the extremely hot desert! We stared at him for 2 seconds, speechlessly. Mr.T parked the car underground, then we took elevator to Tourist Reception Hall where the cool air of AC was pretty enjoyable. Because of the terrible heat, Snake Path had been closed before we arrived. So the cable car became the only choice for visitors. Anyway, I didn’t think I could climb to the top through that crazy snake path. After 2 hours’ marching, well,I should say, plodding among the ruins in the burning sun, we only visited the area around Northern Palace, just 30% of the whole city! Oh, no! I couldn’t bear the heat any more, even though it provided nice shelters and free drinking water system. Forgive me, my lord. I’m dying.

Whipping the sweat away from my forehead, I stood in the guards’ tower for the last view from the plateau till the Death Sea, drank half bottle of water, and quickly followed my round husband “rolling” down the cliff, haha.

  1. 這么熱的地方,蒸那個什么的,是想要耐熱度么,嗯嗯,應該是這樣子的說。
