Located on the left bank of the Seine River, Musée d’Orsay is one of the classic French museums, looking into the Louvre on the right bank, as a shining pearl attracts numerous fans to enjoy its famous artworks spanning the 19th century.

Originally designed as a modern railway station in Paris, Musée d’Orsay was reconstructed as an art museum in 1986, holding mainly French art dating from 1848 to 1914, as well as the largest collection of impressionist masterpieces in the world. Once being called “the most beautiful museum in Europe”, the Museum receives global visitors over 3.5 million every year. Now to celebrate its 30 years’ anniversary, Musée d’Orsay arranges a world touring art exhibition, including two Asian stops: Seoul and Taipei. From April 8 to July 24, just step into Taipei Palace Museum, you will get a close watch on those stunning artworks of the 19th century masters: Van Gogh, Millet, Renoir, Monet, Cézanne, Gauguin, Delacroix, ect. What a fest of Art! And without flight to Paris! The exhibition accounts for 69 masterpieces with the total insurance value over 400 million Euros.

Well, several years ago when Mr.T and I made a short stay in Paris, I remembered that those tourist spots or museums have always been occupied by the crazy crowds. Intimidated by the extremely long queues in front of Musée d’Orsay, I immediately gave it up and walked away. Furthermore, the current situation in Europe doesn’t appear optimistic at all: bad economy, unstable society, and frequent terrorism attacks. No doubt that we are quite safe and lucky here to have the amazing exhibition of Musée d’Orsay. During a rainy day, Mr.T and I drove to Taipei Palace Museum for this art exhibition ( 350NTD/ticket, about 11USD ). As expected, we didn’t meet too many visitors or big groups, thanks to the non-stop rainstorms. Moving around the hall in ease, we enjoyed the unique aesthetic world of these great artists in the 19th century, from Romanticism & Classicism, Academicism & Realism, Impressionism & Naturalism, Symbolism & Eclecticism, to the various origins of the 20th century modern art. How splendid and wonderful!!!
