Well-known for its important spot of tea-horse roads, Lijiang has been a popular place for tourists to ride horses, especially along those ancient paths in the wild. Surrounded by pine woods and high mountains, Lashi Lake, the protected wetland 10kms from Lijiang old town is a quite beautiful place to ride horses and row boats.
Embedded in the basin of the Hengduan Mountain range, Lashi Lake rises 2437 meters above sea level, obviously a seasonal highland lake. It abounds with fish, shellfish & paludina. Around the lake, there’re grassy marshes that often collect the water. The natural ecosystem provides a healthy environment for many aquatic plants and wildlife. When Mr.T and I went there, it was June, the season with less rain. Even from far away, the water looked pretty low. After crossing the green marshland, we found lots of dead shellfish & paludina in the dry soil of the lake-bank, which seemed kind of sad. However, the comfortable warm weather of this wetland attracts many varieties of wild water-fowl who come from the far North for winter and leave when spring arrives with the blooming flowers. Some of them are rare species protected in China. The best time for people who love observing the birds is the cold winter after December.
For most tourists, they go to Lashi Lake for horse-riding to experience the ancient tea-horse roads. The horse farms charge from 100rmb to 600rmb according to different routes you choose, the difficulty of the road and the duration of riding. Mr.T and I were arranged by the inn we lived, 380rmb per person, including free transportation, 2 hrs horse-riding, the free lunch, and 30 minutes boating. Actually it was the first time for me to ride the horse. Kind of scared on the shaking horse back, I really wanted to jump on the ground at the beginning. Mr.T said I looked very funny with terrified, embarrassed and extremely nervous face. What a bad man!
Anyway, except the last part of steep narrow path, I felt very great and excited during my first horse-riding among the pine woods, enjoying the marvelous views and fresh air in the green mountain, ole.

我回家了，这边现在热个半死，白天门都不出了。
小时候我在姑姑家那边有骑过马，
那会个子矮，刚坐上去往下看好高，而且马还动来动去把我吓个半死，
然后还没走几步直接嚷着让姑姑抱下来了。。
七月初回的江南。。。 😀 现在可以去骑匹马试试，没准儿就喜欢上了呢
可惜，当年去丽江时没有去茶马古道
